As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale  through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services.  Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining Internationally competitive.

The role of the SNBTS Quality and Regulatory Compliance Directorate is to develop and deliver a Quality Management System throughout SNBTS, which satisfies regulatory requirements whilst ensuring a high quality, efficient transfusion process from donor to patient. Members of the SNBTS Quality Team require to be forward thinking and imaginative with the drive and self-motivation to relish a challenge.

A vacancy has arisen within the Quality and Regulatory Compliance Directorate, in the Quality Systems Team for the post of Quality Systems Development Manager.  The post is based in the Jack Copland Centre, Edinburgh although there will be a requirement to visit other SNBTS Centres and Sites as part of the role of the Post.

Applicants for this Post should hold an Honours  Degree  in a scientific , biomedical or clinical  discipline  and have experience of working  to the requirements of a Quality Management System in a regulated  GxP environment such as Transfusion Service delivery or commercial pharmaceutical or device manufacture. A post-graduate qualification such as a MSc would be an advantage.

Currently there is no routine requirement for “out of hours” or shift working for this post.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
