Health Services Researcher (Ref: 079675)

£40,872 - £47,846 (Band 7)

Fixed term/secondment – to March 2023

Full time 37.5 hours/week

Glasgow or Edinburgh – remote working will apply for the foreseeable future.


We are seeking to appoint a Health Services Researcher to support the work of the Evidence Directorate at Healthcare Improvement Scotland. This will involve reviewing published evidence to develop advice on the use of healthcare technologies to support policy and planning across NHSScotland. The post holder will be required to undertake rapid review and topic scoping work, to support the Evidence Directorate’s work programme. The post holder may also be required to undertake evidence review work to support the production of clinical guidelines and standards and indicators, and to provide general research support across the organisation.  

This is a fixed term post till March 2023. The successful candidate will require to be educated to master’s degree level in public health, research methods or another relevant subject, or have demonstrable equivalent knowledge and experience with a sound knowledge of both primary and secondary research methods. The post holder will need to possess highly developed written and oral communication skills; experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams; well-developed project management skills; and, excellent organisational skills.
