Job Advert

Information Services Division of NHS National Services Scotland has over 40 years’ experience of supporting NHSScotland to deliver better health outcomes: better data means better lives.  We are the largest employer of information staff in Scotland.  We work with clinicians, health and social care practitioners, managers, researchers and others across the wider public service and beyond.

(In line with the national reform aims of the Scottish Government’s Health& Social Care Delivery Plan, Public Health & Intelligence will become part of a new Public Health Body for Scotland, to be known as Public Health Scotland.  This means that as a result, all employees will be transferred to the new organisation which is anticipated to be during 2019/2020.)
We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Trial Coordinator to join the Public Health and Intelligence (PHI) group within the NHS National Services Scotland (NSS).

The Scottish Cancer Trial Research Unit (SCTRU) forms part of CaCTUS (Cancer Clinical Trials Unit Scotland) which is a partnership between the Cancer Research UK Trials Unit in Glasgow and the Scottish Cancer Trial Research Unit in Edinburgh.  CaCTUS is a UKCRC registered trials unit and offers support for all aspects of the management of clinical trials.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Trial Co-ordinator to join the Scottish Cancer Trials Research Unit, working in a team of trial management professionals running a varied portfolio of clinical trials and related sub-studies, mainly in cancer.  This is a permanent full-time post.

You will be educated to degree level in a scientific discipline or have equivalent long term experience in working on clinical research trials.  Additionally, demonstrable and significant work experience in the co-ordination and administration of clinical trials, along with a solid understanding of clinical research and the regulatory environment is required.  The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the working of the SCTRU.  Excellent communication skills are required as the post-holder will be expected to liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Chief Investigators and their research teams.

Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.
