We require an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with an interest in working in a physical setting to join our team. If you have qualified as an Occupational Therapist this post may be of interest to you. If you already have gained some experience as an OT, you may also be interested in this post.
The post will be based mainly at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary within the Therapies Dept. The rotational programme enables you to develop skills and gain experience across a range of acute hospital specialities including:
• Medical / Surgical – including Emergency Department and Admissions Unit
• Orthopaedics
• Rehabilitation
• Medicine for the Elderly.
You will also be able to complete a rotation at Lochmaben hospital delivering rehabilitation services which provides the opportunity to develop skills in providing ongoing rehabilitation for patients either as in patients, out patients or within their own homes.
The service currently provides a 7 day service and you would be expected to work at weekends as part of an agreed rota.
Supervision and personal development systems are well established within the service. Continuous professional development is actively encouraged and staff at all levels are encouraged to be involved in ongoing service improvements.
