An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NHS Fife GI Nursing team for an experienced Upper GI non medical endosccopist /endoscopy trainer. The current nursing team consists of 8 practising Non-Medical Endoscopists’ /1 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Gastroenterology and a Senior Staff Nurse, there are also three trainees currently training in endoscopic skills. The team is supported by 1.7 WTE Administration Support workers and is fully supported by 6 full time consultant gastroenterologists.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with a passion for clinical care, clinical education and clinical/endoscopic skills training.  A strong team work ethic is required . You will be key member of the  Gastroenterology endoscopy team.
This post requires education to degree level and competence and full JAG accreditation in Upper GI endoscopy. You will have the ability to work across professional boundaries and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to continuous professional development. The Gastroenterolgy service is dedicated to the provision of ongoing effective supervision, support, education and training  of all trainees, both medical and non medical, training in Endoscopic modalities within NHS Fife.

You will be an experienced first level nurse with substantial post registration experience and have significant relevant experience as a dual trained independent nurse endoscopist and have the ability to effectively manage personal patient caseload.
This challenging post requires excellent interpersonal, clinical decision making skills and strong communication skills.  You will be supporting the Planned Care Directorate by undertaking out-patient gastroscopy procedures on both service and dedicated endoscopy training lists. You will be responsible for the training and assessment of trainees in Gastroscopy, working closely with clinical colleagues in the provision of high quality endoscopic examination and training. 

This post is a permanent, part time position based within the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy and Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline and is worked over 2 days.
