Clinical/Counselling Psychologist (with experience in neuropsychology)

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic highly specialist clinical psychologist to a 0.5 WTE band 8a post within NHS Forth Valley major trauma specialist rehabilitation service. This developing service provides comprehensive multi-disciplinary intervention for inpatients with specialist rehabilitation needs who have been repatriated from the major trauma centre. The post represents an exciting opportunity to work closely with a band 8b clinical psychologist to provide input across both acute (Forth Valley Royal Hospital) and community (Bellfield Unit, Stirling Community Hospital) hospitals. The postholder will work with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver a service to individuals who may be experiencing psychological difficulties in relation to neuro and/or poly trauma. The postholder will be expected to work with a range of neurological conditions in particular Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), patients experiencing multiple complex fractures, amputees following vascular surgery. In addition to direct assessment and treatment, consultancy and training will be an integral part of the role. Prior experience of neuropsychology and experience of inpatient work will be advantageous.

The postholder will be professionally line managed within the clinical health psychology specialty where staff wellbeing is given high priority and there are further opportunities to be involved in specialty wide projects. The clinical health psychology team is friendly and dynamic, and there are ample opportunities for support and development including Psychological Services wide reflective practice groups and CPD events. Applications are welcomed from those currently working as a clinical / counselling psychologist and from trainee clinical/counselling psychologists who are due to qualify.
