Planned Care Directorate - Ward 52  Upper GI / General Surgery

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated registered nurses to join our friendly multidisciplinary team in Ward 52.

Ward 52 is a busy surgical ward and is part of the planned care directorate. The clinical area has 24 beds comprising of 12 side rooms and 3 bays. We predominantly provide care to emergency admission patients from the surgical receiving ward with a wide range of surgical, upper GI presentations and step down patients from the surgical high dependency unit.

You would be able to work well under pressure and demonstrate commitment to your ongoing professional development. You must possess excellent communication and prioritisation skills and deliver safe and effective, patient centred care. It would be advantageous if you were competent in intravenous antibiotic administration, cannulation, venepuncture, care and maintenance of central lines, 12 Lead ECG and catheterisation; however, you would be presented with training opportunities to develop these extended skills within the clinical area if required.

You would work alongside a dedicated, supportive team who provide a high standard of care and work cohesively as a team. You would receive mentorship for a period of time if required, have continuous support for your ongoing professional development alongside annual appraisals. In Ward 52 we work a 12.5 hour day and night rotational shift pattern . Part or full time hours are available. Salary will be pro rata for part time hours.
