NHS Ayrshire and Arran are seeking a Band 7 Senior Charge Nurse within the Adult Mental Health In-patient services Adult Acute Admissions Unit at Woodland View. The unit is set within the grounds of Ayrshire Central Hospital in Irvine.
You will be a First Level Registered Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration with substantial post registration experience at Band 6 or above within a relevant area and/or demonstrate expert clinical and professional practice developed through experience and theoretical knowledge.
You will carry 24 hour continuing responsibility for ward 10 and will lead the multidisciplinary team providing clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team. You will be responsible for ensuring that standards of practice are maintained, reviewed and continuously, developed and that staff deliver safe, effective, patient-centred, efficient, timely and equitable care.
You are required to be comfortable in the management of all aspects of staff within the clinical area from recruitment and retention to TURAS appraisal, including conduct and disciplinary matters. An understanding of budget management is essential.
It is essential that the applicant is familiar with the application of policy and procedure in areas pertinent mental health legislation. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential.
