An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Nurse/ Lecturer Practitioner of Children Service at University Hospital Wishaw.

Please note this is a fixed-term post for 12 months.

The post holder will lead a range of dynamic interventions across a range of teams, identifying practice development opportunities which support the delivery of reliable person-centred care through the utilisation of one or more of the following across the NMAHP community of NHS Lanarkshire: Practice development strategies, Professional advisory and internal consultancy services, Project and people management, Development, training and education, Development, compliance or review of policies, procedures and guidelines.

The post holder will be charged with driving forward care improvement through the development of frontline clinical leadership and practice, responsibility and accountability informed by improvement science methodology and sustained implementation of evidence-based practice.

The post holder will have responsibility for delivering an agreed set of annual objectives.  This will involve working across the NMAHP community (from the most junior to the most senior); respecting and challenging professional boundaries; and working collaboratively and in partnership with patients, the public, other service providers, education providers and regulatory and national policy leads.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

A Registered Practitioner on either the NMC or HCPC register

Post-registration experience in a healthcare setting, experience in a clinical or educational leadership position (Band 7 or above)

Educated to Masters Level

Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Education or equivalent qualification

Able to provide evidence of clinical leadership through involvement in practice development processes

Contemporary knowledge of leadership, professional issues and development requirements of the NMAHP workforce

Excellent team worker

Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.

The post holder will demonstrate a high level of operational performance as a visible and professional leader demonstrating:

Knowledge and proficiency in adult learning

Substantial clinical leadership experience

Self-starter and motivator

Strong team worker

Presentation and writing/publication skills

Development, research/quality improvement and facilitation skills

Group work/multidisciplinary skills

Knowledge of evidence-based practice, critical appraisal, evaluation and research
