As a vital part of NHS Scotland, NHS National Services Scotland’s mission is to enable and support the delivery of better health and better care, working in partnership.  We do this by providing a range of specialised support services that enable NHS Boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care.
Procurement, Commissioning and Facilities (PCF) provide specific services and expert advice across its portfolio of activity.  Outputs include specialist services commissioning, screening, national contracting, logistics, procurement systems, and professional advice and expertise about property, facilities, construction and equipment.
The Technology Services department is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for IT developments within SBU.  It is also responsible for leading, managing and directing the implementation of eProcurement technologies for customers in Health, SG and the wider public sector.  The department is recognised as the Centre of Expertise and NHS Scotland focal point for technology services in relation to Purchase to Pay (P2P) solutions.

You will provide comprehensive project support for a portfolio of technology and IT related programmes across Procurement, Commissioning and Facilities SBU, with emphasis on new technology, digital transformation, service innovation and the development of technology solutions whilst maintaining close working relationships with stakeholders within NHSS (including NSS), Scottish Government, the wider public sector and private sector.

This role is key to the delivery the SBU’s strategic outcomes in relation to improvement, service transformation, IT development and Procurement Reform and the implementation of technology programmes across NHS Scotland. It is also critical in the development of the SBU as a centre of expertise.

You should hold a degree within relevant subject or professional accreditation in a technical, business or similar discipline, or equivalent experience.  Exceptional organisational skills, the ability to solve problems and provide support to project teams are required.  Excellent communications and interpersonal skills are essential.
