An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Ayrshire and Arran for enthusiastic self-motivated individuals, well versed in education to support our Registered Nurses and Health Care Support Workers.
As a Band 7 Practice Development Nurse the post holder will lead in the provision of training and education programmes for clinicians to ensure the development and maintenance of clinical competencies and safe and effective clinical care.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting and promoting clinical excellence and patient safety with a particular focus on education. Experience of managing clinical and organisational challenges and an ability to handle complex work without supervision would be advantageous as would the ability to negotiate and facilitate change with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
As a Practice Development Nurse you must be able to demonstrate an ability to engage with clinical teams and lead and support them. Furthermore support clinical staff and services to embed evidence into practice, this can be in the form of delivering training sessions, working in clinical practice, carrying out audits or supporting the delivery of guidelines and policies.
Guided by the Chief nurse for Excellence in Care and Professional Development, you will work in tandem with Specialist Nurses, QI teams, PEFs, Governance team, Library Services and Excellence in Care.
Hours: 2 x 37.5 per week.
Part time hours may be considered.
