The Head of Corporate Services is looking to recruit a Head of HR Services to join the Corporate Services Team of NHS Orkney. This is a key Corporate Services management role to ensure that NHS Orkney has the capability needed to deliver effective care and meet its objectives. This is an exciting time to be joining NHS Orkney and to be leading an area of activity that will be highly influential in creating an environment that will facilitate the delivery of a high performing organisation, where staff at every level have both the desire and capability to support our ambitions. Applicants must have significant management experience with a track record of successfully working in HR at a strategic level. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills as well as significant experience, the ability to work strategically, the postholder will play a significant part in developing and delivering strategies across areas of responsibility.

Orkney lies off the northern coast of Scotland, between John O’Groats and the Shetland Isles. The total population is approximately 22,000 with most people living on the Mainland. Kirkwall, the capital, with a population of 7,500, it is the administrative centre of Orkney with a good mix of shops, supermarkets and businesses. Orkney is a wonderful place to live and work and voted the happiest place to live in the UK.

Kirkwall has several flights a day (just under 1 hour) connecting to the mainland and with high speed broadband available on the islands, friends and family are just a click away.
