We are looking for a Registered Nurse first level (Adult) to join our surgical ward team at the Lorn and Islands Hospital Oban. Ward A is a very busy unit comprising of an 18 bedded inpatient ward receiving 24 hours daily and a 6 bedded Day Bed Unit receiving both elective and emergency admissions.
The day bed unit is operational Monday to Friday for people attending for both general surgery and endoscopy procedures. The successful applicant will work within the ward and day bed unit rotating between both day and night duty and be flexible to the needs of the service.
This post offers an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain new skills and experience in elective, emergency and day care surgical conditions.
Applicants should have post registration experience working in a general surgical ward or acute care. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to assess, plan and implement care for surgical patients. Applicants should also have good communication and interpersonal skills and work well within a team.
