3 month Locum position based at the Royal Hospital for Children (RHC) Glasgow. The RHC is one the largest children’s hospitals in the UK and unique within Scotland. The PICU has 22 flexible critical care beds and admits approximately 1100 patients per year. An extensive range of paediatric sub-specialties is provided for which includes congenital heart disease surgery, interventional cardiology, ECMO, complex airway surgery, neuro-surgery, trauma, oncology, stem cell transplantation, renal transplantation, immuno-deficiencies and metabolic medicine. The intensive care team collaborates with the amalgamated Scottish retrieval service (ScotSTAR) to provide advice, support and the transfer of critically ill children by road or air (helicopter / fixed wing) throughout Scotland including many remote and rural locations.
