This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified speech and language therapists to join the team of SLTs working in Midlothian in the clinical area of complex additional support needs. This post is based in Midlothian and will involve working across a range of settings, including specialist Education provisions, clinics, mainstream schools and Early Years centres, and domiciliary visits. 

In addition to significant experience of working in this clinical area, applicants should have a postgraduate qualification in assessment and management of eating, drinking & swallowing disorders. The post holder will work closely with the local team and other professionals in the multidisciplinary team to support children, young people and their families. The post holder will also take a leading role with senior colleagues in delivering on service developments relating to their area of clinical expertise.

The Speech and Language Therapy service is innovative and supportive.  It is committed to the principles of clinical governance to provide a high quality service focused on the child’s needs.  Support is provided for clinicians in district based and clinically focused teams. All therapists have a personal development plan and are encouraged to extend their skills through a variety of CPD activities.
