The Knowledge Management and Discovery Business Unit promotes access to the evidence, research and learning resources to support the health and social care workforce through the delivery of a learning management system, Turas Learn https://learn.nes.nhs.scot/ and a Digital library hosted on The Knowledge Network www.knowledge.scot.nhs.uk.  

What you’ll do 

You will join the team providing the national digital library for health and social care staff in Scotland. As the eResources librarian (Analyst Business Partner Knowledge Services) you will be responsible for the operational delivery of the national e-resources subscriptions.  You will ensure all the electronic resources purchased by NES are properly recorded and made available via Library Search and The Knowledge Network.  You will monitor the access and use of the subscription resources including liaison with providers, collation of usage statistics and troubleshooting access problems. You will manage user management on EduServ (OpenAthens) and other systems supporting user access to subscription resources and physical stock. You will support the provision of material not covered by the subscriptions. You will lead the User Support team. You will provide advice on the NHSScotland licence from the Copyright Licensing Agency and answer general copyright and licensing queries as required. 

What you’ll bring 

Educated to degree level, with a postgraduate qualification in library, information or knowledge management. 

  • Experience of managing digital library subscription services and information management in a digital environment 
  • An understanding of copyright law  
  • Experience supporting user enquiries 
  • An eye for detail
