NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is an education and training body and a special health board within NHS Scotland, with responsibility of developing and delivering education and training for the healthcare workforce in Scotland.
What You'll Do
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Psychology Directorate within NHS Education for Scotland. Following on from the publication of the NES/ Scottish Government (2017) Transforming Psychological Trauma: Knowledge and Skills for the Scottish Workforce, we are seeking experienced and highly motivated practitioners to deliver a portfolio of national educational initiatives focussed on supporting implementation of the framework.
What You'll Bring
The successful applicant will be an innovative and highly motivated health or social service practitioner (qualified to Masters level or equivalent) and have significant experience of clinical practice in the field of working with survivors of abuse and trauma, teaching / training, research, facilitation and working in a healthcare / social care/ education environment. Ideally they will have significant experience in the delivery of group based psychoeducation interventions for survivors of psychological trauma. The post provides an opportunity for practitioners to take a leading role in a programme of work at national level, supporting the training of staff working with people with lived experience of Trauma across the lifespan in a variety of contexts. Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are essential, as is engagement in partnership working with a range of stakeholders. In addition, the post-holder will be committed to multi-professional and inter-agency approaches to education and healthcare, and will be able to demonstrate flexibility and high-level diplomacy skills.
The base for the post may be negotiable but is important to note that it will be necessary for the successful applicant to attend a significant number of meetings in Edinburgh. The post will require travel throughout Scotland, and occasionally to other UK countries.
