Who We Are 

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is an education and training body and a special health board within NHS Scotland, with responsibility of developing and delivering education and training for the healthcare workforce in Scotland.

This is a new and exciting opportunity to be part of a newly formed team that will influence and support developing the digital capabilities and technology deployment and adoption across Scotland’s health and social care workforce.  
Digital technology has been essential in supporting health and care provision during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Enabling the acceleration of digitally delivered services across the sector providing much needed support to people across the country.  This has highlighted the need and further opportunities for continuing the momentum of digitally enabling the workforce. Therefore, Scottish Government is funding the role of Programme Support Officer reporting through NES Education for Scotland. 


The Role 

The Programme Support Officer role is an incremental part of team involved in delivering the programme of work to develop the Health and Social Care Workforce and improving Digital Capability. Multi-tasking and managing the programme of work associated activities and administrative support for the team.
Working with the team and in partnership with multiple stakeholders within and out with NES, including directly with Scottish Government, Local Government Digital Office, Scottish Social Services Council and Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations. 


What you'll be doing 

•    Working with a vibrant, innovative new team and stakeholders to deliver a programme of work that digitally enables the workforce across Health and Social Care  
•    Co-ordinating planning and tracking the overall progress against specific projects and initiatives that link into the overall deliverables of the programme
•    Leading the administration tasks, preparing documents, presentations and status reports for meetings
•    Working closely with the wider team and ensuring the communications aligned to the projects are created within timescales and to an exceptionally high quality
•    Delivering the communication and marketing strategies that promotes the resources and work aligned to digitally enabling the workforce
•    Motivating, developing and leading the administration team


What you'll bring 

•    Highly experienced self-motivated project officer
•    Exceptional in planning, organising and prioritising own and others work effectively. 
•    Ability to track and managing the progress of multiple projects 
•    Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
•    Experience of leading project administration 
•    Skilled in researching finding, managing and analysing information 
•    Advanced level of IT skills, including extensive experience of using Microsoft Office 365 for example TEAMs, Planner, SharePoint, OneDrive and OneNote 
•    Experience of motivating, leading and developing direct reports
