Endoscopy Clinical Lead (National) / Associate Postgraduate Dean
Fixed Term/Secondment opportunity for 2 years*
Up to 5 Programmed Activities (5PAs) per week - Salary commensurate with existing Consultant salary point
Flexible Base- NES is a remote friendly employer supporting office, remote and hybrid working. Contractual base location will be agreed at appointment with the expectation that most colleagues will access NES office locations regularly.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the NHS Scotland Academy (NHSS Academy) National Endoscopy Training Programme as the Endoscopy Clinical Lead. The NHSS Academy is a joint venture between NHS Education for Scotland and NHS Golden Jubilee and has been developed to deliver unique workforce learning opportunities on behalf of NHS Scotland. It will support the transformation and sustainability of the health and social care workforce through the development and delivery of new accelerated learning and development offerings for key roles.
The Endoscopy Clinical Lead (National) will have a NHS Scotland wide remit and provide strategic medical leadership for the National Endoscopy Training Programme as well as advise on the appointment of National Endoscopy Training Programme board members, ensuring that the strategic priorities of the National Endoscopy Training Programme are achieved. The postholder will be expected to work closely with the regional leads, the NHS Scotland Academy team, NES and National Specialty Advisory Groups (NSAG) for endoscopy as well as provide expert clinical advice and leadership, taking a strategic overview of Scotland’s National Endoscopy Training Programme (NETP).
The successful candidate will possess leadership, vision, strategic thinking and planning with a proven track record of experience in a senior leadership position and leading major change initiatives in a challenging organisational environment.
Applications are invited from clinicians who possess the credibility within NHS Scotland to support the national leadership role and have expert knowledge of the provision of Endoscopy services.
This role will report to the Chair of the National Endoscopy Training Board and will be expected to work closely with the Regional Leads, hub team, Postgraduate Deans, Associate Postgraduate Deans, Training Programme Directors, Directors of Medical Education and the leads of national organisations.
