Advanced Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist – Band 7
HMP & YOI Grampian (Peterhead), Permanent, Part-time 15 hours (job share may be considered)
Following the retirement of the existing postholder, there is a very exciting opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join the Speech and Language Therapy team in Aberdeenshire in order to support the development and evaluation of the speech and language therapy service to the prison population within HMP & YOI Grampian at Peterhead.
The post holder will work alongside other AHP’s working within HMP Grampian, the Aberdeenshire Community Speech and Language Therapy Team and colleagues from the Mental Health and Learning Disability SLT team. A minimum of 5 years experience working with those who have mental health issues, neurodiversity and learning difficulties is required. Some experience of working with adult acquired disorders of communication (including dysphagia) would also be beneficial.
The successful candidate would be required to identify the therapy needs of the population of HMP & YOI Grampian and to support the provision of a diagnostic and therapeutic service (including dysphagia), to identify the training needs of Staff at HMP & YOI Grampian in order to support those with speech, language and communication needs and to assist in the development of the Speech and Language Therapy service within the NHS Grampian/HMP Service with support of clinical leads
