Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
What you'll do
Key tasks will include but are not restricted to;
Plan, organise and coordinate programs of work in line with key priorities relating to the delivery of a new placement delivery model for optometry trainees in Scotland.
Accurately record, monitor and review financial information for the workstream, supporting the annual operational planning process.
Create, develop, review, and manage standard operating policies and procedures.
Plan and manage meetings, leading and facilitating the implementation of agreed actions arising from the project planning process including the management of risk.
Communicate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
The post holder will be expected to contribute their specialist expertise to national and regional NES initiatives and will be required to assist in any other duties deemed reasonable to their role and band.
What you'll bring
These will include but are not restricted to;
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Ability to manage projects/programmes/initiatives at various stages of development.
Sound understanding of business administration and development of standard operating procedures
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Understanding of quality improvement and project management techniques and application
Knowledge of business planning and experience of strategic workforce planning and resourcing
Experience of writing policies and operational procedures
Ability to delegate work as appropriate to the wider business support team.
