Maintenance Craftsperson (Plumbing and Heating Engineer) (Ref: 114814)
Substantive post, Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Band 4 - Salary Range £23,709 - £25,982 per annum plus
Distant Islands Allowance of £1,971 per annum

The Maintenance Craftsman (Plumbing and Heating Engineer) will assist in the inspection and upkeep of all NHS property and ensure that routine maintenance is carried out. There are two hospitals in Lerwick with 13,000 square meters of floor area, as well as 10 Health Centres. There are various nurses’ homes including those located in Shetland’s outer islands. In addition there is a 32 room staff accommodation complex at Montfield Lane, Lerwick. The Doctors’ residencies comprise of six single rooms, two 3 bedroom houses and two 2 bedroom flats. There are two operating theatres and a Central Decontamination Unit (CDU). The postholder, working in a nine man team, is expected to work on any of these properties, as required. There will also be an on-call commitment associated with this post.
