Our Key priority is to ensure that NHSScotland as enough blood to meet the transfusion needs of patients in Scotland.

Tissues, Cells & Advanced Therapeutics (TCAT) is an integral part of the SNBTS with responsibility for the collection, testing, storing and issuing of human tissue and cellular therapy products throughout Scotland.

We are now recruiting a part-time Administrative Assistant to cover the maternity leave of the existing postholder.

You will provide administrative support to the Clinical Lead for TCAT and more generally administrative, meeting & project support to the Senior Managers and staff within TCAT ensuring efficient and pro-active support at all times. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidate will contribute to the efficient functioning of all aspects of the department.

The postholder will also provide general administrative support as a member of the Head Quarters (HQ) Business Support team as directed by the Executive Assistant, HQ, in support of HQ and other service areas of SNBTS.

You will be educated to HNC level or equivalent in a Business or Secretarial subject and have demonstrable experience of working in an Administrative/Secretarial role, ideally in support of Senior Managers. You must be well organised, pro-active and capable of working to tight deadlines. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office packages is essential and experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team would be advantageous. A team player with a flexible attitude to work, you will possess excellent communication skills.

This post is based at the new National Centre for SNBTS in Edinburgh, the Jack Copland Centre, However due to the ongoing COVID19 situation you will be primarily based working from home until there is a safe time to return to office.
