Diabetic Specialist Nurse  (Ref:  28090)

Band 6 - Salary Range £31,800 - £39,169 per annum

Full Time – 37.5 hours per week

Fixed Term – until 31/03/21   


This exciting new role will allow the successful applicant to work alongside the lead Diabetes Specialist Nurse in the delivery of all Diabetic Services across NHS Shetland.


We are seeking a committed, highly motivated nurse, who has a knowledge of evidence based diabetic care and/or relevant experience.  You will have excellent communication, interpersonal, organisation and teaching skills, together with an enthusiasm to develop new ideas.  Proven evidence of professional development, determination, drive and commitment are essential for this post.  The ability to work autonomously and within the multidisciplinary team setting is essential.


The post holder will receive full support from the lead Diabetes Nurse Specialist and will be given the opportunity to develop/expand their skills and knowledge base to an advanced level.


This contract is for a fixed-term until 31st March 2021. The reason for the fixed-term contract is to allow for ongoing workforce planning and covid remobilisation.  If you wish to apply for this post as a secondment opportunity, you will need to discuss with your line manager before submitting an application.
