Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is an education and training body and a special health board within NHS Scotland, with responsibility of developing and delivering education and training for the healthcare workforce in Scotland.
The purpose of the Quality workstream within the Medical Directorate of NES is to ensure that the quality management of postgraduate medical education and training is to the standards set by the General Medical Council (GMC).

The National Training Programme Director for Clinical Pharmacology will be responsible for managing specialty training programmes for doctors holding the following appointments: specialty registrar (StR); and locum appointments for training (LATs).
The TPD should be a Consultant and is accountable to the Lead Dean for Medicine or appropriate Associate Dean. They may also combine the role with that of an educational and/or clinical supervisor.
The post is available for 3 years in the first instance.
