Post 1: Permanent Band 8a Senior Nurse – Older People’s Mental Health Service (OPMH)
Post 2: Permanent Band 8a Senior Nurse – Medicine for the Elderly( MfE) /Community Hospitals(CH)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for individuals to provide senior leadership to nurses within Older People’s Mental Health Services and Medicine for the Elderly/Community Hospitals in Angus.
You will work closely with the Service Manager within the Older People’s Service to contribute to the strategic priorities of the Angus Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP) in relation to Older People’s Mental Health – all services/Medicine for the Elderly/Community Hospitals. This will require innovation and will include participation in the development of policies and strategic plans and initiating changes to local services in line with HSCP decisions.
You will provide senior nursing leadership to the nursing and wider workforce within the Older People’s Mental Health Service/Medicine for the Elderly/Community Hospitals Service to deliver frontline professional and operational priorities and manage the service including Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) / trainee ANPs / Specialist Nurses and Senior Charges Nurses/Team Managers/Charge Nurses working within the services ensuring the safe, effective and person centred care of patients across Angus HSCP
You will be an experienced nurse with the personal drive, clinical knowledge and commitment to undertake this challenging and rewarding role. You will possess highly developed management and communication skills and have experience of working effectively across professional boundaries. You will be required to work autonomously and demonstrate proven leadership and management skills
It is essential that the post holder for Post 1 is a Registered Mental Health Nurse and for Post 2 is a Registered General Nurse, with evidence of relevant post graduate education. A sound knowledge and understanding of the NHS environment, including current political influence and knowledge of current policy directive relating to health and social care is essential.

Hours of work are: Full time – 37.5 hours over a 5 day week.
