What you'll do

The key responsibilities of this role are: -

  • Maintaining and Implementing policies and procedures e.g. actioning forms / change forms in relation to policies etc. 
  • Coordinating payroll  processes and procedures including but not limited to salary setting for medical and dental staff
  • Coordinating the full cycle of maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental leave and parental leave.  
  • Managing busy workload, supervising staff and distributing workload
  • Providing advice and support in relation to policies and procedures, and terms and conditions
  • Query resolution, flagging complex queries
  • Ensuring the intranet / other forms of communication is up to date
  • Provide supervisory support to the Admin Assistants
  • Managing systems, analysing data and reviewing & providing comprehensive reports to support business requirements
  • Supporting all activities in relation to onboarding 
  • Progressing all administrative stages of the employment journey in accordance with the policies and procedures e.g. occupational health referrals, absence management etc.
  • Supervising mailboxes and telephones, responding to queries and providing advice and support to a range of customers and stakeholders at all levels
  • Supporting events (including off site) and meetings including scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, taking minutes/notes, monitoring follow up actions and distributing papers. 
  • Work flexibly across all teams in HR to help achieve the Directorates’ deliverables. 
  • Making suggested changes and contributing to continuous improvement within the teams to provide a high-quality and value add service
  • Any ad hoc administration task as required 


What you'll bring

NES is seeking a customer focused individual who can demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, energy and a common-sense approach to support the delivery of a range of proactive, robust and future focused HR services that optimises digital technology. HR experience is desirable.

You will have good payroll experience as well as experience of working within a fast-paced environment. You will have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills plus a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages especially Word, Excel, and 365 together with other digital systems and databases.

Reporting to the Senior Officer - HR, you will also be responsible for the daily supervision of the team’s Admin Assistants.

The successful candidate will have strong administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and use an innovative approach to problem solving. Along with numeracy and analytical skills, tact and diplomacy are essential to providing an exemplar HR service to the organisation.
