NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is a Special Health Board whose mission is to contribute to the highest quality of healthcare throughout NHS Scotland by promoting best practice in the education and life-long learning of all staff.  The Digital Group has created a strategic programme for the transformation of digital based services to allow NES to become a leading digital organisation in Scottish Health, digital by default and fully aligned with the Scottish Government’s eHealth and Digital strategies. The Knowledge Management and Discovery Business Unit promotes access to the evidence, research and learning resources to support the health and social care workforce through the delivery of a learning management system, Turas Learn https://learn.nes.nhs.scot/ and a Digital library hosted on The Knowledge Network www.knowledge.scot.nhs.uk.

What you’ll do

You will lead the eLearning Team in NES and support the development and delivery of a range of eLearning modules working closely with educators in NES and others with a national remit. You will provide professional advice and consultancy on the development of eLearning resources.

What you’ll bring

  • Educated to degree level
  • Experience leading a team and managing staff
  • Significant experience in using technology to design and deliver education
  • Significant experience designing and delivering eLearning modules and working closely with educators
  • Experience supporting the commissioning of eLearning through the procurement process
  • Working with a wide range of people to facilitate a community of staff involved in eLearning across NES
  • Interest in sharing knowledge and collaborating with eLearning teams across health and social care
  • Knowledge of sources to keep up to date with developments and trends within the areas of digital learning.
